About Attorney Melissa Belcher

Melissa Belcher is the founder of Ancestry Legal, an estate planning and probate law firm based in Nolensville, Tennessee. She is licensed to practice law in Tennessee and serves clients across the state — in person and virtually.

Before founding Ancestry Legal, Melissa was the driving force behind two pieces of Tennessee legislation that changed state law to better protect children and families. She has spent her entire legal career advocating for real people in real situations — from the courtrooms of Davidson County to the estate planning consultations she holds today.

Melissa started this practice because her own family experienced the painful confusion of navigating a loss without a plan. She never wants another Tennessee family to go through that when thoughtful, affordable planning could have prevented it.
